When I read these definitions I can think of so many examples of acts of bravery, and they all have a pretty big impact on all involved! I think about a firefighter running into a blazing building to rescue a young child, a rescue Calvary coming to render aid in a disaster area, a soldier preparing to go to war, or a person revealing their true self to the world even when acceptance and tolerance are on the line. Myself or any plus size woman deciding to wear a swimsuit, whether one piece or two is nowhere on that chart!!!! If you reference above, we would have to endure or face pain in order for our actions to be considered brave. Why can’t a Plus Size woman in a swimsuit just be a regular everyday act? We wear a swimsuit because its hot outside, because we want to, and because we love ourselves as we are and not because we are brave!!
Stereotypes attempt to make us feel like we should be afraid of wearing a swimsuit. Typically, calling someone “Brave” is a compliment, of course; but if you call someone “Brave” for wearing a swimsuit, you’re implying that their body is something to be ashamed of. Talk about your classic example of a back-handed compliment, either way times are changing and you will see more of us in our swimsuits than ever before!!!! Our curves were meant to be seen and it’s time that everyone realized loving ourselves is normal and here to stay!!!
The only concern a girl should have when debating if she will wear a swimsuit or not, is to decide if it will be a one piece or two, bold solids or prints!!! Here we have shown everyday women of different shapes and sizes, confidently wearing multiple looks that can appeal to every taste for the Summer. When picking out your suit, it’s only right to choose styles and colors that flatter you most. Women of all sizes can rock a high wasted two piece, a bikini, and a sexy/flirty one piece all on the same vacation and look absolutely stunning in every one of them.
Check out these styles that SarahJaneReign, Zanchelle and myself (msbeyoudoyou) rocked with confidence to see which one “SUITS” you most!!! Smooches!
