I know many people think that models have these glamorous lives and don’t have to work really hard for it, but oh contraire my Freire!!!! Trying to penetrate a saturated industry and live a life as a model is tough work! This is definitely not an industry built for the weary, but one that can be completely rewarding when you get to see the fruits of your labor!!

I’d probably say I have some challenges many models may not feel. Trying to live a dual life can really test your faith at times. I have a regular life as a mom with a regular job and a business, then I totally switch gears and place on my model hat where I must be on point at all times!!! Talk about exhausting right??? Well, I will say that I’ve always believed in the saying ” nothing worth having, should come easy”, and I let that drive me in this hot and cold fashion industry!!!

One of the challenges of a model is the fact that most of the time you have to go where the work is, depending on where you live. Now my peers that live in NYC, Atlanta, and Cali, are good because there is always something going on, but for me in Beaumont Texas I’m driving distances or flying period! My advice if you’re in my same boat is If you want it, you gotta go get out there!!! This weekend you can take a look at my journey to Hotlanta for The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo Model Call. All of the beauties chosen will walk for several designers at the TCFstyle Expo 2017, hosted in Atlanta July 28th and 29th. Everyone who’s anyone in the Plus World will be there, so definitely an event we don’t want to miss.

If you’re reading this and want to become a model, or are already one I hope you’re encouraged instead of discouraged! Understand, doing anything on a professional level is challenging. In most areas there is only a 2% success rate, but the only thing that can stop us from being apart of that 2%, is us!!! Don’t be afraid to make sacrifices, to put yourself out there, to take some hard hits, it will all be worth it in the end. Remember, You only lose if you stop!!! Smooches!!
